The museums
A series of events is planned to give prominence to the museum collections of the University, including:
- the inauguration of display areas of the "Museum of Man", located in the building of Corso Massimo D'Azeglio, which already houses the historic Museum of Human Anatomy. This is a joint project between the University and the Piedmont Region.
Work is currently underway to refurbish the monumental premises of the Museum of Anatomy and to transfer the Museum of Criminal Anthropology, better known as the Lombroso Museum, to the same site.
Subsequently, the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography will also be moved and new display areas will be realized, e.g. on the physical and cultural evolution of man.
The first section of the Museum of Man holds collections which are essentially historic-scientific and represent a testimony to an age, i.e. the second half of the 19th century, which was particularly significant for science in Turin.
